T&H Law Firm Establishes Liaison Office in Uzbekistan, Marking Its Entry into the Central Asian Legal Market

At 10:30 a.m. on April 13, 2026 (Uzbekistan time), the signing and unveiling ceremony for the T&H Uzbekistan Liaison Office was held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Wang Zheng, Director of T&H Law Firm, and Chen Yiyi, Deputy Director of the firm’s Foreign Legal Affairs Department, along with Hong Weixing, Director of HA-JI-WU LAW FIRM (Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Legal Service Center), Attorney Shen Xueming, and colleagues from the firm.

Director Hong Weixing extended a warm welcome to Director Wang Zheng and his delegation, and proceeded to share insights on Uzbekistan’s current foreign investment policies, key industrial priorities, and the broader investment opportunities emerging across Central Asia. Director Wang Zheng expressed his gratitude for the hospitality extended by HA-JI-WU LAW FIRM and noted that T&H had already completed its legal service network build-out in Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America. This partnership, he added, formally inaugurates T&H’s strategic expansion into the Central Asian legal services market, and will subsequently facilitate and support Zhejiang enterprises as they enter the Central Asian market, ensuring their compliance and risk management throughout the process. Both sides conveyed their sincere best wishes for this collaboration and expressed their shared commitment to contributing to the economic development of the Central Asian region. The representatives of the two firms then signed the cooperation agreement and officially unveiled the T&H Uzbekistan Liaison Office, marking the formal launch of the partnership.

As a pivotal country at the heart of Central Asia, Uzbekistan has enjoyed steady economic growth since gaining independence in 1991. It is now home to a population of approximately 38 million and over 6,000 lawyers. The relationship between China and Uzbekistan has deep historical roots, and the two countries are important partners in the Belt and Road Initiative. With this new office in Tashkent, T&H’s legal services will extend across all five Central Asian countries – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Central Asia serves as a vital corridor connecting Europe and Asia, and has become a key investment destination for Chinese enterprises, particularly in construction and real estate, the automotive industry, and cross-border e-commerce.

The T&H Uzbekistan Liaison Office will focus on providing comprehensive, end-to-end legal services to Zhejiang enterprises investing in Central Asia – covering the full spectrum from market entry to ongoing operations. Its service offerings will include due diligence for investment projects, investment advisory, retained corporate counsel, cross-border data compliance, overseas tax planning, criminal security, recognition and enforcement of judgments, and cross-border asset tracing and enforcement – all aimed at safeguarding Chinese enterprises as they expand overseas.

The T&H Uzbekistan office is the firm’s twelfth overseas office and represents a strategic move into the Central Asian legal services market. As a leader in Hangzhou’s foreign-related legal services sector, T&H remains closely aligned with the policy priorities of the Party and government, and is committed to contributing to the high-quality development of the Qianjiang New City legal services cluster.
